What Did You Know About Kudzanai Chiurai

At Venice until 14 May, 133 Arts and the FNB Joburg Art Fair present the Johannesburg
Pavilion, a programme of film and performance. The Johannesburg Pavilion is curated by Roelof Petrus van Wyk “in memory of the final Johannesburg Biennale curated in 1997 by Okwui Enwezor”. The Johannesburg Pavilion will include Zimbabwean artist Kudzanai Chiurai. His video work State of the Nation “explores the notion of ‘state’ as a utopia and an action, a state of mind as well as a status,” according to the curator’s statement.
